PROVIDES BUSINESS COUNSELING
project feasibility assessment, how to increase sales, cash flow management, sources of funds, business operations, international trade, etc.
PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
developing a business plan, loan packaging, market surveys, inventory control, accounting and record keeping, etc.
PROVIDES TRAINING
workshops, seminars, conferences, mini courses (custom-tailored to the needs of small business entrepreneurs).
PROVIDES INFORMATION GATHERING AND DISSEMINATION
business, industry, and economic data pertaining to small business.
PROVIDES RESEARCH
in the field of small business, e.g. cottage industry.
PROVIDES ADVOCACY
representing and articulating interests and concerns of small business to the public and relevant forums.
PROVIDES SPECIAL PROJECTS
youth entrepreneurship awareness orientation.

has a professional staff which is augmented by contracted consultants and resources of the University's faculty, staff and students.
UVI-SBDC
receives its funding from the University of the Virgin Islands, the federal and local governments, banks and other private sources.
UVI-SBDC
operates two offices located in the business districts of the territory—one in the Nisky Center in St. Thomas, the other in the Sunshine Mall in St. Croix.
I went through the SBDC to get an equipment loan. The equipment I bought makes it easier for me to do the work on the land. I went in and talked to them and they helped me fill out the papers. It wasn't hard at all. I got the loan and it didn't take long. Basil Richards
